Unfortunately ignoring the business side of acting, will not result in the successful outcome hoped for, which is to obtain ongoing professional work.
Actors, whether they are represented or non represented, must treat themselves like any business, because having a plan for your career is integral to their success. Having no career plan is like a road map with no identifiable points and is just simply too random.
